Potential clients were receiving this email as part of a drip marketing campaign. Each email in the series had to reflect existing marketing initiatives. The challenge was to make the successive emails distinct enough for the recipient to want to read them and respond to the call to action.

Swapping the position of the headline and changing the orientation of the focus image gave a fresher look to a familiar brand piece.

8 Reasons to Choose

In late 2015, our email marketing team came up with some innovative marketing strategies to reach potential members. The challenge was to present engaging messaging and visuals to entice them to a) open and actually read our emails, and b) click the call to action.

I was given direction in terms of the general look and feel for most of this Open Enrollment Series, but was given free reign on this piece. I decided to challenge myself to create an infographic-style email that presented the content in an orderly but stylized way, and adapted some retro-looking icons to add a bit of whimsy.

Choosing a Plan

The directive for this email was to create a cohesive look and feel for a piece containing three distinct calls to action.

Color blocks were used to differentiate sections and bring attention to the key ideas.

This was part of an initiative to create a responsive email structure, ensuring that the communication looked as good as possible on a wide spectrum of email clients.

This email exemplifies a shift in design and execution from previous years. Spaciousness and clarity became key players, and trimming content to the essentials helped to minimize chaos and allow key messages to shine through.
